Leisure Facilities

South Downs

Sussex by the Sea leads to the breathtaking South Downs National Park.

If you are interested in great views, attractive wildlife, visible prehistory, fine pubs and pretty villages, or if you just fancy a challenge, the South Downs Way awaits you.

The South Downs (the newest National Park) has a network of over 2000 miles of well-managed, well-signed and easily accessible trails. What better way to experience the sights and sounds of the area than by exploring on foot, horseback or bicycle.

Enjoy the beauty and tranquility of the high chalk downland and the small fields and deep wooded valleys of the Weald. Discover the ancient history of the area with its Iron Age hill-forts, historic castles, charming old villages, and parish churches.

The South Downs has much to offer, with so many different ways for you and your family to enjoy a visit to remember.

Littlehampton in Sussex is a coastal gem of a town right on the UK's south coast, which prides itself on family fun and great weather. It has two beaches, a bustling marina and harbour and some stunning architecture.

Between the town's East and West beaches lies the River Arun, offering a range of pursuits from boating trips to deep sea fishing, scuba diving to water skiing and sailing.

Take advantage of the great all-year round conditions by trying your hand at windsurfing, canoeing, kite surfing and jet-skiing.

Nearby Chichester plays host to the Goodwood Estate; home of the famous Festival of Speed, Goodwood Revival, Vintage at Goodwood, and Glorious Goodwood events.

There's something for everyone all year round, from golf on the English PGA Championship course, laid-back lunches at the brasserie with friends, 'you' time at the Health Club, or simply the chance to indulge yourself with locally produced treats from the organic farm shop.

Local Shopping

The picturesque market town of Arundel spans the River Arun between Britain's new South Downs National Park and the Sussex UK coastline. Its charming town centre streets are lined with Georgian and Victorian buildings housing tea-shops, restaurants, galleries and thriving independent shops.

The majestic 11th Century Arundel Castle and gothic Cathedral dominate the skyline of this historic town. A bustling Arundel farmers market is held in the town on the third Saturday of every month with stalls full of local produce so you can buy all you need for a picnic on the South Downs.
