The purpose-built Horton Heath Community Centre acts as a hub for local groups, classes and events and a small Londis grocery store ensures you don’t have to go far for the daily essentials. Head into Fair Oak you will find even more on offer, including a fresh bakery and a post office. The Lapstone Park Playing Fields in Fair Oak have many outdoor sports facilities (for tennis, cricket and football) and the Itchen Valley Country Park is just four miles away, with a 440 acre sprawl of woods and walks, a children’s play area, off-road cycling track and Go Ape treetop adventure trail to explore.

Southampton offers plenty to interest all ages. It also has a reputation as a foodie heaven, with many cafés and restaurants to try and the largest Farmers’ Market in the country, held twice a month in Winchester Cathedral Close.
