Marden, tucked away off the A229, approximately 8 miles south of Maidstone and 14 miles from Tonbridge, has long been a farming community and still retains a rural ‘feel’ and a strong sense of community. Fremlin Walk, a stylish open-air shopping centre, is home to High Street brands and a House of Fraser store and the main indoor shopping centre, The Mall Chequers can be found off King Street. On the other side of the River Medway, St Peter’s Wharf hosts homeware, clothes and craft stores and there’s the Broadway Shopping Centre and twice weekly Maidstone market at Lockmeadow. On the outskirts of town you’ll find Newnham Court Shopping Village and Eclipse Park.

Commuting from Marden is easy as the village is on the B2079 which links the A229 at Maidstone with the A21 at Flimwell and Marden has its own mainline railway station. Marden Station provides services to London Charing Cross with a journey time of approximately an hour. On an average weekday, there are 48 trains per day travelling from Marden to London – which makes this a popular destination for commuters.
