What is Shared Ownership?
Under a Shared Ownership scheme you part-own and part-rent your home. With a Shared Ownership property you become an owner-occupier. This gives you the long-term security and stability of home ownership at a price that’s still affordable.
The minimum share you can purchase is 25% and the maximum is 75%. You will usually pay a mortgage on the part you own and a subsidised rent on the part you don’t own. As your income rises, you can increase the share you own until you eventually own 100% and no longer pay any rent to L&Q. This process is known as ‘Staircasing’.

Eligibility Requirements
1. You’ll first need to make sure you’re eligible for L&Q Shared Ownership by registering with L&Q.
2. Once confirmed, you will receive a reference number which you’ll need in order book a viewing appointment.
3. L&Q @ Greenwich Peninsula is open to applicants living/working in Bexley, Bromley, Greenwich, Lewisham or Southwark. If you live/work outside these boroughs you will not be eligible.
4. Due to restrictions from the Royal Borough of Greenwich the maximum household income for applications for these units is £60,522. Priority for these units will be given to those living or working in the Royal Borough of Greenwich.

The suggested income levels on the pricelist indicate our recommendation of the incomes required to purchase; however applicants on a lower income may be able to secure a property but will need to contribute a larger deposit.
