The town's rugby union teams are the Scarlets and Llanelli RFC. and there is also a strong junior rugby team. The town also has a special needs school Ysgol Heol Goffa forchildren with disabilities and a private school, St Michael's. For olderchildren there is a sixth form at Ysgol Gyfun y Strade and St Michael's. Thetown also has a college, Coleg Sir Gar.


Prince Phillip Hospital is a 10-minute drive away. Llanelli has manydoctors' surgeries, all within a 10-minute drive.
