It has been necessary for us to move three times since November 2011 and all three sales were handled through Burgess - an Edwardian 4 bed house, a 3 bed flat and a 3 bed chalet bungalow. We also purchased the flat through Burgess. Burgess are excellent listeners, followed instructions we required about viewing arrangements, tracked the sales extremely efficiently without scaring the buyers off and kept us informed following all communiactions with our buyers. There were the usual ups and downs that come with the territory and their calm efficiency in dealing with these problems and our emotions was exemplary. When purchasing, they were relentless in introducing us to properties and did not get fed up with us when we rejected them as some agents in the town quite obviously did. When we decided to sell our property in late 2013 we had several local estate agents visit to value our property and to let us know what they could do for us. After two other local agents had visited, Julie Burgess from Burgess & Co came to see us. Right from the very start we knew that we would use her company. She was extremely professional and practical, she detailed the whole process and how our property would be marketed and outlined fully what her company would do for us. So confident were we after her initial visit that we then cancelled all the remaining visits by the other agencies. The property was put on the market early summer 2014 and Burgess & Co sent their negotiators round to view the property so that they were familiar with it when talking to prospective buyers. That makes common sense but not all agencies would have done it. We had several viewings, always accompanied by one of the sales team at Burgess & Co. Eventually we did receive an offer and the fairly complex negotiations over the sale price with the prospective buyers was carried out by Julie herself extremely efficiently. Once the final offer was accepted another negotiator, Siobhan Mason, took over the running of the property sale. The short chain was broken twice but quickly re-established and we found ourselves in a chain of five couples. However, this was not without many problems further down the chain, ranging from very difficult conveyancing firms that were just about uncontactable and constantly losing documents, to other buyers in the chain being very slow to return documents, changing Completion dates etc. The road to Exchange took many, many weeks and through it all Siobhan was scarily pro-active with all other parties involved in the chain. It would be very fair and accurate to say that without Siobhan's input and control we would still be waiting for Exchange many weeks, if not months, after it actually took place. We would unreservedly recommend Burgess & Co as the most professional and efficient estate agency in the area - for which we thank them . Mr F
