    About Brecon

    Brecon is a picturesque market town, located at the foot of the Brecon Beacons, in the county of Powys, Mid Wales. It is the perfect location for those who love the outdoors, with vast green spaces surrounding the town. Although set in beautiful countryside, Brecon is well connected with the rest of Wales via an array of A-roads. The M4 motorway can also be reached within an hour and the city of Cardiff is less than one hour away. Brecon does not have its own station, however the nearby Abergavenny station runs trains to Shrewsbury in the north and down to Newport in the south.

    There is plenty to do in Brecon, especially for those who love to explore the great outdoors. The Brecon Beacons are right on your doorstep and if you are up for a challenge you can climb Pen Y Fan, the highest peak in Mid Wales. There are also more relaxing walking routes available along the canal that lead into the neighbouring villages.
