Residential development and planningWe specialise in advising on small and medium size development opportunities in the South Cambridgeshire District Council and Cambridge City Council areas.
Our service can cover as much or as little of the planning and build process as you require.
· If you think there might be a single building plot in your back garden, or you have an acre of prime development land, we can visit you free of charge to carry out an inspection and assess whether your site might be suitable for development.
· If you have a site that already has planning we can advise on optimising the site layout and house designs for maximum build profit or for maximum sale price if you wish to sell the land to a developer.
· If you are a developer who has already started building we can advise on interior specifications and a strategy for coming to the market.

Jamie Curtis, DirectorJamie Curtis began his Estate Agency career way back in 1992 as Liam Gallagher and Daman Albarn were metaphorically arm wrestling in the charts. Since then he has been responsible for the sale of thousands of properties locally.He quickly became Branch Manager before working the next 20 or so years for two of Cambridge's leading agents. He felt ready to strike out and do things his way in 2015 and opened the doors of Cooke Curtis & Co.It's fair to say he hasn't looked back recently leading his team to become the UK's leading estate agent. -

Ian Chapman, DirectorIan is one of Cambridge's most experienced local estate agents. He was born and raised here and started working in agency in the mid-90s on Regent Street. He opened his own firm in the early 2000s, eventually selling his share in the mid-2010s and then pursuing a career in land acquisition and new homes. But, though we occasionally try to deny it, estate agents are estate agents and Ian is now back doing what he's best at with CC&C. Ian lives in Over with his young family and spends his spare time hacking golf balls out of the rough. -

Julia Bailey, DirectorJulia Bailey is a very experienced local estate agent. She first began working in the job in Cambridge in the 1980s and, after a break to raise a family, returned in 2000. Before joining Cooke Curtis & Co in 2015 she spent a number of years running the Sawston branch of a successful local estate agent.
Julia grew up in Sawston and lived there until a few years ago when she began a love affair with a picture-perfect thatched cottage in Weston Colville where she lives with Mr Bailey and their two dogs.

Mark Abbott, Associate DirectorMark is an elder statesman of the Cambridge estate agency community. Though the secret rituals of estate agency are closely guarded it is rumoured that at their induction to the order newly qualified estate agents must wash his feet with their hair.He grew up not far north of Cambridge, where he dreamed of becoming an estate agent. He went to school dressed as an estate agent, he is married to an estate agent and the only reason his son isn't an estate agent is that this might breach child labour laws.When supplying notes for this bio Mark left the 'Hopes and dreams' section blank. Presumably because he's already achieved them.Mark is an accomplished all round sportsman. Shining as a tricky, energetic midfield terrier in the winter and able to deftly wield bat and sling ball through the summer months. Superstar actor Margot Robbie once met Mark while he was on an Australian cricket tour. -

Jenny Flanagan, Estate AgentJenny has worked as an estate agent in Cambridge for more than 15 years. Initially for two of the city's other leading independent firms before choosing to come to Cooke Curtis & Co in 2016 to bolster our ranks as our business grew.
Jenny grew up Swaffham Bulbeck and now lives in Burwell. She has a peculiar penchant for getting up early, so if you call us between 8am and 9am it's usually Jenny who will answer the phone full of beans as everyone else is still focusing on their first cup of coffee. -

Lesley Prieto, Operations DirectorLesley is responsible for day-to-day operation of the office and has spent most of the last 20 years working at a senior business management level within the recruitment sector, supporting both businesses within the City of London, Surrey & Cambridge.
Despite a highly successful career within recruitment, Lesley has always wanted to work within the property industry and has been with Cooke Curtis & Co from the beginning.
You will not see Lesley out and about on viewings or valuations, however you are likely to speak with her on over the telephone on a day to day basis. -

Dominic Holl, Estate AgentDominic joined us in 2018, leaving behind a position in estate agency down in Canterbury, close to where he grew up. We'd like to say it was CC&C's enviable national reputation that brought him to Cambridge, but it was something altogether more romantic than that. He's not new to the area though, having lived in Cambridge for 4 years during his degree. Dom owns a 1966 Sunbeam Alpine, just like the one that races the yellow Porsche in Commando, but he is too young to know what Commando is. -

Sarah Rolls, Estate AgentSarah lives in Soham with her two girls and has been in Estate Agency for an awfully long time, mainly in Cambridge but also with a few years over in Ely, where she worked her way up to a managerial position. She now looks after the stressful and vitally important aspect of Sales Progression. If you're lucky enough to buy or sell with us you'll be grateful of her calm authority and long experience. -

Remi Gannon, Estate AgentWe've known Remi the estate agent since forever, 15 years or more, and were super keen to get her to work with us from day 1, but she was too successful, flying high with her own estate agency branch in Saffron Walden. But good things come to those who nag and when she decided to step back from the rat race and move to rural Devon with her husband, baby and retired greyhound we were delighted to be able to welcome her experience to Cooke Curtis and Co. You won't see Remi on any viewings of course, but thanks to the modern wonder of the world-wide-internet she's very much a member of our team. We have a printout of her face on the office wall too. -

Lauren Ambrose, Estate AgentLauren's cat has more Instagram followers than Cooke Curtis & Co. but we bet we're better at opening tricky doors where, for example, you have to lift up a bit as you turn the key. No cat can do that. I think we all know who the real winners are. The pair of them live with a human male in the windy wilds of Exning. Lauren has amongst the fastest hands in the office, so if you call the sales office you're probably most likely to speak to her first. -

Mitchell McKenzie, Estate AgentLike a number of our staff Mitchell grew up south of Cambridge. Quite far south, actually. Beyond Sawston, beyond Hinxton, beyond... Botswana... South Africa, in fact.He worked as an estate agent there for a number of years, but the bright lights, sandy beaches and glamour of sun-drenched Cape Town couldn't hold his attention for long, once he heard about Cambridge, with its proud traditions of below average sporting achievements, moribund night life and under-two-hour's-drive closeness to Great Yarmouth pleasure beach, he couldn't wait to get here.
Mitchell is a creative type, holding a diploma in animation and having worked as a professional property photographer in the past. He's a very happily married man and a true football fan, standing steadfast in his following of Manchester's second club despite their seemingly terminal decline. -

Sam Cooke, DirectorSam Cooke became an Agent in 1999 and before starting CC&C in 2015 worked as an Associate and Associate Director at two of Cambridge's most successful estate agency chains, most recently running an office in Great Shelford.
He is a qualified member of the National Association of Estate Agents.
Sam's family can trace its Cambridge roots back over 500 years and he counts among his close relations a former Director of Cambridge United and former Mayor of the City. He grew up in Fulbourn and Stapleford and now lives in Trumpington with his wife and three smallish children. When not selling houses he is a Governor of Trumpington Community College, a student of Taekwondo and an enthusiast of rusty old cars and cycles that he occasionally races. With no success.

Jamie Abbott, Senior ValuerThe boss's name sake Jamie was born and raised in our wonderful city, but has always resided in the West; Caldecote, Papworth, Hardwick and now Comberton. Perhaps someone should tell him the wall came down in the late 80's?! He leads a very busy family life with his wife Tonya and his son and daughter. And not to forget their furry first born Lulu who still rules the roost. He lets off steam playing the occasional game of squash or 'relaxing' as an armchair Liverpool fan. He did try to broaden his leisure activities by taking up golf but it was short lived, his wife remarking "If you think you're going to work all week, leaving me with the kids and then doing it again at the weekend, you're mistaken". We like Tonya very much. -

Imogen Allan, Estate AgentImogen currently lives in Newmarket. She was born in Bury St. Edmunds however her dad's side of the family is from God's Own County, Yorkshire. Her grandad is the director of an auction house...going, going, gone! Before she became an estate agent Imogen worked at a firm of solicitors, in their conveyancing department giving her invaluable insight into this fundamental part of the house buying and selling process. When Imogen isn't absorbing herself in the property market she loves travelling. In early 2024 she spent two and a half months in Vietnam and Bali and it's her life's ambition to explore every fascinating corner of the world.
