We rented our first home in St Albans through Martin & Co and then chose to go against the flow and sell our home through them as we had received such great service. Richard, Merril and Will are honest, straight talking and always do what they say they will do. Our house was sold within 2 weeks of going on the market, for the asking price. Our experience with some of the big estate agents in St Albans has been very poor by comparison. We strongly recommend giving Martin & Co the opportunity to sell your home.

Will Lau was excellent - he understood what we wanted and didn't waste our time trying to force us to view things that weren't right for us (unlike a few other estate agents in the area who seem to send over anything and everything!). The whole team were really nice and helpful - we did a couple of viewings of the property after we had put the offer in, and they were always very accommodating and patient. Great team, can't fault them. We have purchased a lovely flat, and when we do eventually want to sell, we will certainly be going through Martin & Co.

2013 I own 2 flats in St Albans, which I am letting out through Martin & Co. I switched to Martin & Co. from another letting agent that I was having problems with, and it was the best decision to make the move. Richard and Merril are first class, really outstanding service, nothing is too much trouble. They get the basics right (simple things like consistently paying the rent onwards to the landlord's account on time every month, which believe it or not my previous agent could not get right!) and also go the extra mile and are fully on top of things like contacting the landlord and tenant well in advance of renewals of lease, etc, to make sure everything is organised. I was in particular extremely pleased with work we needed done to the flats that they co-ordinated - they have great contacts with local suppliers/workmen, which ensures good quality and cost-effective service. They also provide very much a 'consultative' service (in comparison to other agents) and took the time to work with me as landlord to do a proper assessment of the market before advising on achievable rental rates, and then when it came to negotiating with tenants they didn't just recommend taking the first offer to keep their lives easy, they really pushed for the maximum rental achievable. All in all, a huge breath of fresh air, I highly recommend them, you will not be disappointed. In the world of letting agents there are many unscrupulous people out there, but here you get the best of both worlds - local friendly family-owned service, but backed by a large company in Martin & Co. 2014 We're very thankful that we found Merril & Richard from Martin & Co. They take the stress out of letting and we'd highly recommend them to anyone. When I initially moved to the UK 14 months ago for work, I started the challenging process of finding an apartment sharing with a friend & colleague.
