OLD BAKERY STUDIOS, Truro

Old Bakery Studios occupies the historic Blewett's Wharf building at Blewett's Wharf, Malpas Road, Truro, Cornwall (TR1 1QH). This landmark structure—parts thought to date back over 300 years—originally served as a marine warehouse and storage facility, later becoming Blewett's Bakery, where grain and cargo were loaded onto ships at high tide.

Positioned at the confluence of Truro's three rivers (Allen, Kenwyn, and Truro), it enjoys a serene yet central riverside location in the city's Media/Creative District, next to BBC Radio Cornwall. The building retains its industrial heritage through exposed beams, wooden floors, high ceilings, and abundant natural light, with many upper-floor studios offering views over the river or toward Truro Cathedral's spires.

A short walk from Truro's town centre, main shops, bus, and train stations, it combines easy accessibility with a tranquil waterside atmosphere. Sensitively repurposed since 2015 into a creative hub, the site blends maritime history with contemporary vibrancy—evoking Truro's rich past while serving as a dynamic space for artists, businesses, and events.
