Portello, covering Sussex

Portello is a letting agent and property management company based in Brighton, serving landlords across Brighton & Hove and throughout East and West Sussex. We let and manage homes in Hove, Lewes, Worthing, Shoreham, Haywards Heath, Burgess Hill, Hassocks, Ditchling, Horsham, Chichester, Eastbourne and the surrounding villages.

Portello was founded by Peter Phillips, who has spent over 20 years working in property across prime central London and Sussex. Peter set up Portello to offer landlords something he felt was missing from the high street: a discreet, personal service where every property is looked after as carefully as if it were his own. Clients deal directly with Peter and a small, experienced team, not a rotating cast of negotiators.

Our lettings and property management services cover everything a landlord needs. We offer full property management, including rent collection, maintenance, inspections and compliance, as well as tenant finding with thorough referencing. We manage portfolios for landlords with multiple properties, look after luxury and high value homes, and provide dedicated management for second homes and overseas landlords. We also handle rental search and corporate relocation, and we make it simple for landlords to switch from their current agent with a straightforward handover.

Landlords come to us for clear communication, careful tenant selection and properties that are properly maintained. We keep our clients compliant with the latest lettings legislation, so they can rely on us to handle regulatory changes on their behalf. Portello is a Propertymark accredited agency.

Alongside lettings, Peter and the team also act as buying agents, helping clients find and secure property across Sussex. This gives our landlords informed advice on buying, growing and reviewing their portfolios.
