    About us.....

    Stride & Son is a long established local firm with a rich history dating back over 130 years when we held sales in the City's cattle market, in what is now the Cattle Market car park very close to our Auction House and Management office in St. John's Street. The firm soon diversified from livestock auctions into property sales and lettings, land agency and property management. Our auction house now conducts regular sales of antiques, coins, silver, jewellery and toys as well as providing a house clearance service.

    Based in two locations in the centre of the historic Cathedral City of Chichester we offer a wide range of professional services, including valuations of both property and chattels, utilising the expertise and experience of the firm's qualified Chartered Surveyors and Auctioneer. Our team possesses in depth knowledge of the local property market providing our clients with expert advice.

    All Valuations are carried out in accordance with Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors RICS Valuation - Global Standards known as the "Red Book" in compliance with RICS's practice statements and guidance notes on valuations.

    Stride & Son were first established in 1890 when the firm was originally founded to hold sales at the Cattle Market, and having since built on this original agricultural base, we are now able to offer a wide range of professional property services.

    The firm is run as an independent partnership, all three partners being Fellow members of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and therefore being governed by professional guidelines and regulations.

    As well as our Estate Agency department, we hold auctions of furniture and effects on the last Friday of every month in our Saleroom at Southdown House, regular Book Auctions and an annual Boat Auction, and our Surveyors Department offers Full Building Surveys, RICS Homebuyer’s Survey & Valuation Reports as well as preparation of Planning Applications and architectural drawings.
