      The historic medieval market town of Aylsham is located 9 miles north of Norwich, beside the River Bure. Aylsham has all the characteristics you would expect to find in any Norfolk market town, with its charming narrow streets and Lokes to explore. The unspoilt market place has been holding a regular farmers market since the 1500s. There are varied examples of fine architecture dating back many centuries with a stunning church steeped in regional Norfolk history and boasts one of the largest concentrations of listed buildings in Norfolk. Aylsham is close to Blickling Hall, once home to the Boleyn family and plays host to a thriving tourist industry. On the Bure Valley Railway there is a narrow gauge steam train which will take you to Wroxham or Coltishall.

      There are several free car parks and a good variety of independent local shops including 3 supermarkets, 2 butchers, 2 doctors' surgeries, opticians, library, town hall and schooling for all ages up to 16.

      Aylsham branch
      The historic medieval market town of Aylsham is well placed to enjoy both the North Norfolk Coast and the Broads being conveniently located approx. 9 miles north of Norwich, 12 miles from Holt and 11 miles from the seaside town of Cromer. Situated beside the River Bure, Aylsham has all the characteristics you would expect to find in any Norfolk Market Town with its charming narrow streets and abundance of fine architecture boasting one of the largest concentrations of listed buildings in Norfolk. Nearby National Trust properties include the Blicking Estate, once the home to the Boleyn family and Felbrigg Hall. Walkers and cyclists can also enjoy the Marriott's Way and Weaver's Way paths. The Bure Valley Railway, Norfolk's longest narrow gauge railway, takes passengers from its Aylsham station to Coltishall and Wroxham by steam train.

      Offering an excellent array of independent shops, tea rooms, restaurants and pubs, the Town Centre also has several free car parks. The Market Square, owned by the National Trust, hosts two weekly markets, a monthly Farmer's Market and a number of community events throughout the year.
