Once overlooked in favour of its neighbouring areas of Balham and Clapham, Streatham has begun to draw the attention of a new generation of buyers for its bars, quirky shops and restaurants, superb transport links, great schools and green spaces.
No fewer than three train stations take you directly into London Victoria and London Bridge and various bus services take you to Clapham or Brixton where you can catch the Northern or Victoria lines. By car, you can also reach the M25 in 40 minutes.
Property in Streatham ranges from Victorian and Edwardian villas to eye-catching Art Deco places, as well as new build apartments. London Square, for example, is a new build development with everything from studio apartments to four bed homes. There's plenty to do on your doorstep, including gyms, a new leisure centre and a cinema complex. Alternatively, have a swim at the Tooting Bec Lido, or walk the dog on Streatham Common.
