Most of the sales in Cumbria over the past year were terraced properties which on average sold for £132,614. Semi-detached properties had an average sold price of £174,972 and detached properties averaged at £297,299.

Cumbria, with an overall average price of £192,817, was similar in terms of sold prices to nearby Greater Manchester (£199,908), but was more expensive than Lancashire (£168,985) and Merseyside (£171,384). The most expensive area within Cumbria was Grasmere (£638,334) and the cheapest was Millom (£102,008).

In the past year house prices in Cumbria were similar to the year before and 7% up on 2016 when they averaged at £180,780.
