Most of the sales in Cumbria over the past year were terraced properties which on average sold for £133,039. Semi-detached properties had an average sold price of £173,274 and detached properties averaged at £297,300.
Cumbria, with an overall average price of £191,241, was similar in terms of sold prices to nearby Greater Manchester (£192,999), but was more expensive than Lancashire (£165,241) and Merseyside (£167,682). The most expensive area within Cumbria was Grasmere (£557,980) and the cheapest was Millom (£106,707).
In the past year house prices in Cumbria were similar to the year before and 9% up on 2015 when they averaged at £175,391.
