Most of the sales in South Wales over the past year were terraced properties which on average sold for £182,224. Semi-detached properties had an average sold price of £242,055 and detached properties averaged at £395,505.
South Wales, with an overall average price of £245,750, was similar in terms of sold prices to nearby West Wales (£236,271), but was more expensive than North Wales (£232,324) and cheaper than Mid Wales (£272,427). The most expensive area within South Wales was Monmouthshire (£371,073) and the cheapest was Blaenau Gwent (£157,250).
In the past year house prices in South Wales were 3% up on the year before and 3% up on 2022 when they averaged at £239,351.
