Last year most property sales in North East involved terraced properties which sold for on average £145,649. Semi-detached properties sold for an average price of £184,043, while detached properties fetched £331,036.
North East, with an overall average price of £191,288 was cheaper than nearby North West (£243,045), Yorkshire and the Humber (£235,262) and East Midlands (£263,037). The priciest area within North East was Northumberland (£244,622) and the least expensive was County Durham (£164,925).
During the last year, sold prices in North East were 4% down on the previous year and similar to 2021 when the average house price was £191,264.
