Last year most property sales in Chester Le Street involved terraced properties which sold for on average £115,086. Semi-detached properties sold for an average price of £150,289, while detached properties fetched £279,229.
Chester Le Street, with an overall average price of £165,834 was more expensive than nearby Ouston (£153,816), Sacriston (£104,900) and Stanley (£101,651).
During the last year, sold prices in Chester Le Street were 6% up on the previous year and 5% up on 2006 when the average house price was £157,220.
