Last year most property sales in Coniston involved terraced properties which sold for on average £257,798. Semi-detached properties sold for an average price of £259,500, while detached properties fetched £441,500.
Coniston, with an overall average price of £289,592 was more expensive than nearby Hawkshead (£230,000) and Lake District (£246,847), but was cheaper than Ambleside (£349,012).
During the last year, sold prices in Coniston were 15% down on the previous year and 23% down on 2011 when the average house price was £375,821.
