Most of the sales in Hawthorn over the past year were semi-detached properties which on average sold for £184,250. Terraced properties had an average sold price of £138,700 and detached properties averaged at £233,475.
Hawthorn, with an overall average price of £165,182 was more expensive than nearby Pontypridd (£140,164), but was cheaper than Cardiff (£235,285) and Church Village (£199,970).
In the past year house prices in Hawthorn were 16% up on the year before and 17% up on 2015 when they averaged at £140,942.
There were only 19 properties sold in the last year, therefore, the average prices may only reflect the mix of properties sold, rather than changes in the local market itself.
