5 most popular period property styles with home-buyers

We can reveal that Victorian homes reign supreme as the most searched-for property style on Rightmove.

Characterised by their distinct design features that stand the test of time, all of the top five home styles demonstrate that period properties hold a special place with movers who’re looking for their next home. Similarly, ‘character’ and ‘period’ both ranked in the top 20 search terms movers looked for this year.

We analysed the types of homes people are searching for using our keyword sort tool, which narrows down their search results to show available properties with a particular architectural feature or style.

Georgian homes came in second place, and Edwardian in third.

Period properties continue to be a draw for home-buyers, thanks to their historic architecture, high ceilings and large windows. These homes are often showcased in hit TV shows, from Bridgerton – which returns to our screens this week – to Downton Abbey and The Tudors.
