The pull of BBC’s Poldark sees property searches double

Searches for property in Poldark’s filming locations in Cornwall have more than doubled on Rightmove since the show came to our screens in March.

The popular period drama is filmed in scenic places including Charlestown, Gunwalloe and Porthgwara, and agents say they are seeing the ‘Poldark effect’ on sales and viewings.

We’ve asked around and unfortunately Aidan Turner isn’t planning to move there, but when you start browsing some of the properties available to buy along the coast it’s not hard to see why they’re proving so popular.

Brian Deacon, sales and marketing director for Linden Homes who have a development near Charlestown said:

“Reservations and visitor levels at Coast @ Two Coves have certainly increased since the TV series highlighted the beautiful local scenery. The ‘Poldark effect’ is definitely having an impact on sales and I’m not surprised as this particular corner of Cornwall is such a stunning part of the world.”

We’ve picked a few of our favourite properties currently for sale in Poldark country, so why not take a look around if you’re thinking of a move, or if you just want to day dream about a life by the sea!
