A house sure to brighten up your day

Arguably the most colourful house we’ve ever seen, has gone on the market in Lydney for £495,000.

The Folly, a three bedroom cottage owned by renowned ceramic artist Mary Rose Young, is a masterpiece of vivid colour and eclectic style.

Mary Rose Young, whose pottery is popular with celebrity shoppers, has been adding her creative flair to the property since the 1980’s. A workshop has also been built next to the property where her ‘Alice in Wonderland’ pottery was created and also doubled up as a popular gallery.

Sharon Vickers of Bidmeadcook who is marketing the property on Rightmove, said:

“I have been an estate agent in this area for over 25 years and in all my experience I have never seen anything so colourful.  When I walked into this house it was like being in a sweet shop as a child, you didn’t know where to look or what to choose first, I like to call it Alice in Wonderland’s house. It really reflects Mary Young’s Happiness with its bright vivid colours , painted stone walls, bright ceilings, roses on the floor, colourful wash basins, and even the toilet didn’t escape being given an artistic makeover.”
