Inspiration Wednesday – Chichester

Today’s #InspirationWednesday is Chichester in West Sussex. Chichester is a brilliant area in which to live, being beautiful in itself but also offering close proximity to stunning areas of Hampshire, Dorset, the tranquillity of the New Forest, the Isle of Wight and many seaside towns.

Exploring Chichester will suit anyone as it offers city, country and coast, all within an easy distance. The city centre boasts an 11th century Cathedral, a variety of galleries, the Roman Palace and Gardens and a planetarium. But if you want to take in a bit of fresh air and nature, head out of town and walk the Chichester Canal or you can walk or take a boat around the relaxed and scenic Chichester Harbour. If you want to head down to the coast then Bognor Regis, Pagham, East Wittering and Hayling Island are the closest.

Chichester offers a comfortable family feel to its residents with many festivals throughout the calendar too, for example, an annual four-week arts and music festival in late Spring/early Summer and the annual 18-day International Film Festival (whose Vice-Presidents are Dame Maggie Smith and Kenneth Branagh!).
