Inspiration Wednesday – Halstead

This week’s #InspirationWednesday is Halstead, after our research this week showed that the town is one of the top three investor hotspots outside London, seeing a return on investment of over 25%!

The town, in Braintree, Essex, is a traditional market town, with a population of 11,000. In the past, it has been a mill town, used to produce corn and silk. Nowadays, there is a great number of shops, restaurants and pubs in the town centre, as well as a 14^th century church, a local antiques mill and Halstead Public Gardens.

Sat in the Colne Valley, this is a lovely place to live with its relaxed and picturesque surroundings, within easy reach of forests, a riverside and miles of countryside to explore. If you want to stay closer to home, though, the town has a great community spirit, with loads going on, such as Quiz Nights, Ale tastings and running societies!

The Bull Hotel, in the city centre, dates back to 1398 and still has some stunning, traditional features.

You can tell gardening is a priority in the area, as Halstead won ‘Anglia in Bloom’ in 2013 and the ‘RHS Britain in Bloom Award’.
