Inspiration Wednesday – Southport

SouthportOur #InspirationWednesday today is the lovely Southport, in Merseyside. Sat 16 miles above Liverpool, the seaside destination has gone through lots of regeneration in recent years, making it a popular tourist destination, still, to this day.

With a lovely air of history about it, the town was formed in 1792 when an innkeeper built a bathing house at the south end of Lord Street, the town’s main high-street. It became a popular tourist destination during the nineteenth century, with easy access from Merseyside and Lancashire.

With a long, sandy beach, this is a gorgeous place to live if you crave the fresh, sea air. Southport is sat within a great location to commute to nearby cities but offers a great community feel and local events, with airshows, flower shows, jazz festivals and more! The sea front has the ‘New Pleasureland’, which opened on the site of the former ‘Pleasureland’ and a large shopping complex – giving residents a plethora of local amenities and facilities.
