The Big Breakfast house is up for sale for £5.75 million

It’s one of the most iconic filming locations from 90s television, and now The Big Breakfast house could be yours – if you have a spare £6million.

Formerly three separate lock-keeper’s cottages, this famous six-bedroom property was the venue for the hit Channel 4 breakfast show that aired from September 1992 to March 2002.

The Big Breakfast was presented by the likes of Chris Evans, Gaby Roslin, Mark Little, Zoe Ball, Johnny Vaughan and Denise van Outen, and the house at Old Ford Lock in East London was renovated after the show finished.

The residence, which is just minutes from the Olympic Park in Stratford, is laid out across three floors.

However, at present, the property is split into two, comprising one home of 3,000 sq ft and one of 1,500 sq ft, but with the inter-connecting doors still preserved.

The home is nestled in a secluded oasis on the bank of the River Lee, and boasts a beautiful roof terrace, a huge garden, and even an outdoor swimming pool.

Despite the property having been refurbished since its TV heyday, fans of The Big Breakfast may still recognise various locations around the house that were used for different segments.

For example, the property also comes with a separate outdoor workshop – where Johnny Vaughan hosted “From Me Shed, Son” – which could now be converted into a home gym or workspace.

And who could forget all those celebrity interviews “On The Bed”, puppets Zig and Zag, and a host of other novel segments that made the show so popular.

The property is now on the market for £5.75 million.

Earlier this year, Channel 4 announced The Big Breakfast is due to return for a one-off comeback show hosted by comedian Mo Gilligan, due to air in 2021.

This property is listed for sale with BlakeStanley Estate Agents.
