Five of the most viewed homes this month
If you could choose between a remote Lake District retreat, a waterside mansion moments from the beach, or a period manor house with a hotel-style spa complex, which would it be?
These spectacular properties have captivated the nation this month, and are all among the five most-viewed homes on Rightmove. Take a look below – which one is your favourite?
1. The most remote home in England
This one-of-a-kind house has been crowned ‘the most remote home in England’, and tops the list of the most viewed properties this month.
Priced at £1.5 million, the six-bedroom home is set in the middle of Skiddaw Forest in the Lake District, and is only accessible by foot or 4×4 vehicle.
The unique property really does give a new meaning to the term ‘private retreat’, and is perfect for anyone who wants total peace and quiet – and no neighbours!
2. A spectacular waterside retreat
This dreamy coastal property is just metres from the water in Rock, North Cornwall and offers stunning views over the Camel Estuary towards Padstow on the opposite shore.
Priced at £6 million, this former hotel, with 14 bedrooms and 11 bathrooms, has been listed for sale for the first time since 1950.
3. A mega-mansion set within 17 acres
There are four homes set within this ‘mini-estate’ in the village of Woodplumpton in Preston. The main seven-bedroom house has four huge reception rooms, an indoor swimming pool, billiards room and five en-suites. There are also two separate three-bedroom cottages to the rear, and a two-bedroom flat overlooking the main grounds.
We also think the gardens are pretty spectacular, with a lake, two fountains, a koi carp pond and an outdoor kitchen. An area designated for potential use as a heli-pad has also been created and is found tucked away to the rear.
4. A contemporary beach house in Devon
This contemporary home in Salcombe, Devon, has been designed to take full advantage of its location overlooking the beach, with breathtaking views to the south, and to the west over North Sands Valley.
The decked sun balcony is a real standout feature, alongside the home’s tropical gardens and striking interior design. A home in a location as stunning as this will no doubt receive lots of visitors, so there’s parking for 12 cars as well as boat storage – a rarity in Salcombe.
5. A magnificent manor house
This Grade II-listed countryside home in North Yorkshire was built in 1850 and has been refurbished with an elegant mix of classic and contemporary interiors which combine period features and hi-tech gadgets.
The property is set in 13 acres with lawns, paddocks and a pond, plus there’s a 3-4 bedroom property in the grounds. The dedicated leisure complex boasts a gym, pool, sauna, Jacuzzi, and there’s a bar area for unwinding after your work-out.
