Mallorca is the top summer spot for overseas home-movers
This year’s ‘staycation summer’ saw us enjoying coastal spots closer to home during our holidays this year.
Yet for many, travel restrictions over the summer months certainly didn’t dampen the dream of living abroad.
In fact, it turns out that we weren’t the only ones imagining what it might be like to work from home from a warm, sun-kissed Mediterranean island. Our research shows the Spanish island of Mallorca was the most searched-for destination abroad this summer.
The Dordogne in France, Costa Del Sol in Spain and Brittany in France also featured in the top 10 list of places British buyers were searching for between June and August this year.

Top spot: Mallorca
The island home of world-famous tennis champion Rafael Nadal is known for its ideal climate, beach resorts, endless coastlines and thriving foodie scene.
Local property expert Daniel Arenas Oe, a partner at Mallorca Site, says there is something on the island for buyers of all tastes and budgets.
“With an ideal climate, excellent infrastructure and stable air connections, the island has been possibly the most attractive destination for many international buyers,” he says.
While the city of Palma is still a huge draw for buyers, homes in village locations across the island are also in huge demand.
