Content marketing really cuts through with email

Content cuts through

Now is the key time to get your message out to students. There’s no better time use our huge database of over 350,000 students many of them currently going through clearing.

We have an active and engaged audience that continues to grow. Targeted email campaigns are a great way to promote your properties and services to a large audience of students and parents of students, who are looking for property on Rightmove.

These email campaigns are perfect for generating interest in newly acquired property or to raise awareness of a promotion.

We asked Simon Elvin, our digital marketing manager what are his top tips for creating the best email campaign.

Think mobile
Email creatives must render correctly across all desktop and mobile devices. The majority of Rightmove users now open the emails we send them on a mobile device of some sort. Rightmove also has a range of responsive templates for our customers to take advantage of if they wish, which will mean they don’t have to worry, their emails will always look great.

Be clear
Any email design must have visible calls to action to encourage engagement with it. Clear, obvious buttons, ideally within the top 3rd of the design, are recommended. It should also be clear to the recipient what will happen when they click the button, we don’t want to mislead our audience.

Great email subject lines
Keep them short and punchy. Rightmove recently had some success by reducing a customer’s subject line from 60 characters to under 40, substantially increasing the amount of people who opened their emails.
