So, how’s your renting knowledge now?

How did you do in our renting quiz? Hopefully you’re now feeling a tad more rent savvy and ready to conquer the world of private renting!

It’s so important to make sure you know what to expect when you’re on the hunt for a rental property to make sure you know what charges are and aren’t okay for you to be asked for.

It’s also important that during your tenancy you don’t ignore problems and plan to address them when you’re moving out, as this could cost you dearly in your deposit. You should be communicating with the estate agent or landlord if you have any questions about what’s allowed under your contract or if there are any maintenance issues during the tenancy.

It’s also important for you to know your rights and responsibilities as a renter, once you’re living in the property. From keeping your flat in a reasonably clean condition to knowing if an estate agent is breaching their side of the rules, the more savvy you are, the smoother your renting journey will be.

We know that renting involves a lot of rules and regulations but we are here to help! If you’ve got any questions, please ask them in our question box below.

Our Head of Lettings, Sam Mitchell, will be answering your questions soon!
