It is the administrative centre for the Pissouri District, and boasts a village square, 2 petrol stations, police station, post office, supermarkets, a bank, and two clinics. There are many charming tavernas and coffee shops, and also entertainment facilities, a magnificent Gothic church, and several chapels. The village is home to the majority of the friendly Cypriot population of Pissouri, but also has a large ex-patriot population.
