Goonhilly downs is perhaps most famously known for its steep history in telecommunications, which have evolved into Europe's communications crossroads where satellites meet global subsea cables and fibre, but what many do not know is that the site has a special prehistoric history and is rooted in Neolithic barrows and monuments including a 3.2 metre standing stone.

Approximately 50% of this coveted site sits on SSSI land (a Site of Special Scientific Interest). Natural England oversees these sites right across the breadth of the country and they are known for their rare flora, fauna and ecologically scientific species of interest. The site also benefits from a lake! Reminiscent of its quarry past life. There have been many fish introduced into the lake and for those fishing enthusiasts this is an additional rare treat indeed and something to relish in such a beautiful and quiet secluded spot.

The lake is approximately 3 acres on the far side it has a cliff edge and on the near side, it has a bankrolling into it. Perfect in our opinion for fishing and (subject to planning) a potential business site for nature-loving anglers. The site has been registered for aquatic animal holding with CEFAS and the current vendor has invested in stocking the lake with Common carp, Golden Rudd, Tench, Perch, Roach, Bream, Eels and Rainbow Trout
