Description

A beautiful Victorian terraced house on Kimberley Avenue; a sought-after pretty tree lined street in desirable Nunhead.

This stunning home is ideally positioned close to Peckham Rye and East Dulwich. The front of this charming Victorian home has plenty of curb appeal. On entering the house there is a roomy hall with character features and plenty of space for throwing off your coats and shoes. The living room is exquisite and features elegant coving, ceiling rose, period door handles, original timber flooring and bespoke built in cabinetry. Double doors lead to a second reception creating a spacious open plan feel while also offering versatility to create separate distinct spaces.

At the back of the house is a spectacular kitchen living room extending to over 21 ft, flooded with light. The space is perfect for family living and entertaining, comprising of bespoke cabinetry in a French blue hue with solid oak work surface, a centrally positioned island, plenty of storage, a walk-in pantry, brand new range oven, Butler's sink and top of the range brushed brass De Vol fittings. French doors lead to a generous landscaped garden over 39 ft. There are two seating areas, offering comfortable spots in which to sit and enjoy the garden while cosying up around a firepit of enjoying a morning coffee. There is a raised border herb garden and an abundance of mature, lush green shrubs and trees.

Also on the ground floor is a downstairs toilet, a spacious hall featuring fine period detailing leads upstairs. The main bedroom is large at over 15 ft and is calm, restful and beautifully light. There are bespoke handmade built in wardrobes and the room has plenty of space for a king size bed with ample furniture. The second bedroom is also a generous size at over 11ft, with light continuing to flood the space. The third bedroom is currently used as a nursey and could be used as an office, children's bedroom or guest room. There is potential for a spacious loft conversion.

Nunhead is a vibrant London "village" close to the sought-after neighbourhoods of Peckham Rye, East Dulwich, Brockley and Telegraph Hill. Cool local independent cafes, shops and restaurants are dotted around Nunhead Green making it a lovely spot to mooch on the weekend. Moseys and Good Cup do great coffee and delicious sandwiches. Also within a few minutes' walk are a few of our favourites including The Nunhead Gardener, a community focussed gardening shop, Mother Superior and El Vermut for their excellent choice of wine, cheese and nibbles. There is also a butcher, baker, greengrocer and fish monger. The area benefits from a number of fun pubs with good food, such as the Old Nun's Head, the Earl of Derby and Skehans (voted Time Out's best pub in London 2023), all within walking distance of the house. There are also some amazing restaurants within a 5/10 min walk including D4100 Pizza, Peckham Bazaar and Kudu (which has been awarded a Michelin Bib Gourmand).

While remaining central and well connected, the house benefits from being surrounded by green spaces as well as a number of smaller parks. Peckham Rye Park, historic Nunhead Cemetery and Telegraph Hill Park are perfect spots to walk the dog.

Cool Peckham Rye is around 0.5 miles from the house. With a vibrant and creative community, a buzz of energy and an excellent choice of places to eat and drink, some of our favourites include Frank's Café (a rooftop bar with panoramic views, Campari cocktails and spectacular sunsets), Artusi (for it's delicious and seasonal Italian food), and Ganapati (a laid back, authentic South Indian restaurant).

Also close by and on the Overground line, the neighbourhoods of New Cross and Brockley offer a buzzy urban lifestyle with so much happening. While the micro businesses and weekly farmers' market keep things feeling local, the transport services allow easy access to the whole of London. 'Must visits' include Brockley Farmer's market, Browns of Brockley, Number 57 Handmade, and Brickfields but there are so many other brilliant local businesses.

East Dulwich is also an easy walk from Kimberley Avenue. Considered one of London's best neighbourhoods, East Dulwich has a brilliant energy and buzz with so much to offer. Along Lordship Lane there is a superb choice of independent and local food shops including Moxons Fishmongers, Mons Cheesemongers and Terroirs wine shop, there is plenty more besides. On Saturday's North Cross Road Market has a cool mix of stalls selling food, arts, crafts, antiques and lots more besides. There is also a Picturehouse Cinema and an M&S foodhall. East Dulwich is a thoroughly lovely place around which to wander, while taking in the relaxed vibe.
