There is a bus route from La Cala that goes to nearby Fuengirola and stops at all of the towns and beaches on the way to the famous town of Marbella in the other direction.

La Cala also has a large Lidl, Aldi, Mercadona and El Jamon supermarkets and all of the main banks. The village also hosts a regular market every Wednesday and Saturday from 9am to 2pm.
