Built on the remains of a very old windmill, and known as the Ancien Moulin d' Esclauzels, the Windmill is located in the centre of the Parc Naturel des Causses du Quercy, département du Lot, Midi-Pyrénées, on the top of the highest hill at the altitude of 370 meters, in the area called the Plaçalou - in the Occitan language, the Place of the Light. The garden, an ex-vineyard planted with trees, is 3500 m2.

From this unique property, there is a 360-degree view of the forests and hills. The Pyrenees mountains, 300 km from away, may be seen on the horizon.

The location provides an incredibly quiet, beautiful setting with limited light and noise pollution, allowing for a tranquil environment and superb night sky with the location being known among one of the best places in France to observe the stars and the Milky Way.

The ground floor comprises an entrance hall with WC and staircase leading to the main reception and kitchen area on the first floor with the bedroom and bathroom situated on the second floor.

The living space is 80 m2 over three levels, the top room being 40m2. Foundations for adding a bigger ground floor living room with external stairs for accessing all levels of the windmill, were created with planning permission. The distance to the nearest village of Concots is only 5 km for basic shopping. The medieval town of Cahors, capital of the department, is 25 km away. Down the valley below, along the river Le Lot, and 15 km away, is the famous village of St Cirq Lapopie, considered as one of the most beautiful in France. It is also known as a place where various members of the Surrealist Art Movement painted.
