Nearly 8 years ago, our client Carol was looking to downsize and was really attracted to this property due to the size of the house, it has plenty of downstairs space and two double bedrooms. Whilst she has lived here, Carol has pretty much worked through the whole house including a new kitchen, floorings, redecoration throughout and installing a wood burner. She’s mentioned that one of her favourite things is the view from the back of the house and in the garden, as the seasons change, so do the views of Rivelin Valley.

The location was perfect, she could throw on her walking boots and head out for miles. On a more practical note, the Lidl that opened towards Malin Bridge has made shopping more convenient and it’s within walking distance.

The entrance to the property is initially into the porch, then the hallway. On the right are stairs to the first floor, left is the living room and straight ahead is the kitchen/dining room. The living room is larger than average, there is a bay window at the front but your eye is immediately drawn to the chimney breast with a wood burner. There are also internal French doors to the dining area.

The kitchen/dining area is an L-shape, a great room for entertaining, the kitchen has beautiful contrasting Shaker-style units above and below the Quartz worktop. In terms of appliances, there is an integrated microwave/oven, dishwasher and space for a tall fridge/freezer and range cooker. The dining area is around the corner with room for a table and chairs that look onto the immaculate rear garden through the external French doors.

On the first floor are two bedrooms and a bathroom. Bedroom one is a fantastic bedroom, it’s huge and has windows at the front and back. Bedroom two is a smaller double bedroom that can also be used as a home office with lovely views. The bathroom has a white three-piece suite including a bath with shower above, washbasin and WC.

Externally, at the front of the property, there is off-street parking for multiple cars and a large gravelled area. At the end of the drive is access to the rear garden via the gate. The South-West facing rear garden is a real treat for a gardener. There is a patio directly at the back of the property then a lawn with surrounding immaculately maintained flowerbeds. On the side there is space for a shed and another seating area that is looking directly over Rivelin Valley with raised flowerbeds behind.
