Alfeizeirão is a tranquil and hospitable small town, with easy access to the coast and to cities like Alcobaça and Caldas da Rainha. A vibrant and dynamic cultural life exists in spite of the town's size, with yearly events like the medieval fair and local festivities in January and September. It is a town rich in history with traces echoing the whole of Portuguese history: a Celtic past, a Moorish occupation and the Catholic conquest.
The municipal market is open Tuesdays to Sundays and there are larger monthly markets with other seasonal and local crafts and products. The local delicacy is Pão de Ló, a delicious sponge cake.

Alcobaça is a city of rich history and a calm refuge with plenty of natural wonders. Between the mountains and the sea the municipality offers great quality of life. Its fertile land allows for unique productions of wine, olive oil and bread and it is the centre of the apple production of the country. Its chicken (Frango na Púcara) and pork traditional dishes, as well as multiple sweet desserts, are unique.
The Royal Monastery was the first gothic building built in Portugal and is at the centre of the city's vast architectonic variety. Multiple trails and itineraries in the mountains and by the coast make it a place to relish.
Throughout the year there are cultural events honouring the many medieval traditions and history, and also one of the country's most famous carnival celebrations.
