Dartmoor is a vast, wild, sparely populated area of south Devon roamed by wild ponies. Nature has decorated its landscapes with forests and wetlands and crowned its hills with craggy tors. The area's numerous walking and cycling trails make this a perfect destination for a walking holiday in Devon. Walks local to Woodleigh include one that loops a wooded gorge and another that winds through the hills and valleys that surround the last castle built in Britain.
The historic city of Exeter is just 25 minutes away, and the beaches, coves and seaside towns of the South Devon coast, including Torquay, are only a little further.
Onsite, there's a café and two lakes along the banks of which guests are welcome to go fishing. The Victorian coach house next door is now home to a café that serves tea, coffee, hot meals and a locally famous breakfast.
