Description

Constructed c1830 using red brick beneath a slate roof with a ground floor bay window, traditional timber sash windows and wrought-iron window hoods. The property provides a landscaped rear walled garden and double garage.

The main entrance door is framed by a fanlight and a pediment opening to a traditional tiled floor. Typical of the era, the symmetrical rooms feature high ceilings, cornicing and many period features. The front reception room features a marble fireplace with an open fire as well as a wood burning stove in the dining room. Both reception rooms feature recently restored wooden floors and picture rails. A large basement provides useful storage and could be converted into further accommodation if required. The dining room has French doors opening onto the garden. The kitchen is located in the former scullery with oak fronted cabinets and drawers with white quartz work surfaces over a Belfast sink. There are integrated appliances to include an oven and induction hob, built in dishwasher, space for fridge/freezer and wall mounted boiler. Timber bi-folds open onto the garden patio.

On the first floor, a spacious landing gives access to two bedrooms and stairs to the second floor. The principal bedroom has french doors opening onto the balcony and a fireplace. Both first floor bedrooms have built-in wardrobes. The family bathroom has been fitted with a walk-in shower, large Burlington sink and W.C.

Outside

To the front, the property is set back from the road with Horton stone steps to the front door. At the rear of the property there is a walled landscaped garden which extends to approximately 50 feet in length. Adjoining the house is a large limestone paved courtyard leading onto a lawned area which is complimented by raised flowering borders with retaining wooden sleepers. There is a pathway to the garage at the rear which has an electric door to the front, power, light and a pedestrian door to the garden.
