Full of charm and character is this enchanting 3 bedroom house nestling in one hectare of glorious land with pool, enjoying far reaching countryside views from its peaceful location near Velez Malaga.

This exquisite country house, plus small guest studio apartment, offers total peace and privacy in a most beautiful location with breathtaking views of the countryside, sea and mountains, high above the Velez-Malaga valley and within a short walk of the Buddhist centre.

Situated in the hills accessed along a track of 4 Kms (accessible in any car), Finca Jimena has original thick stone walls, rustic tiles, beams and plenty of character.

The local Buddhist centre was built in this area due to the feeling of serenity and karma one feels in this delightful, natural location and one can feel that serenity everywhere.

A gravel car park for several cars, just off the track, leads to a gated entrance into the gardens. The house and gardens face toward the sea, in a very sunny spot, and tall trees frame and protect the property beautifully. The gardens around the house consist of simple and natural flower beds and pretty seating areas.

To one side of the house is a shady, gated courtyard area under the trees and vegetation. Beyond are two fenced areas, ideal for keeping dogs and animals, and further along is the above ground built-in water deposit commonly used as a swimming pool in the summer. It would be easy to adapt this long-standing building into a completely functioning pool with filter, lights etc.

Little paths beyond the pool area lead down to the lower slopes (packed with wild flowers in the spring), always with the lovely views of the valley, sea (on the higher slopes) and the rugged mountain peaks to the North.

At the very bottom is a flat garden area with the studio. This little building is around 4 x 3.3m and includes a double room, with fridge, and an en suite shower room. There are also steps that lead down to the lower slopes and these could be continued to the studio easily if preferred. The current owners have been known to let the studio to visitors to the nearby Buddhist centre successfully.

To the front of the house is a large covered terrace area (around 8 x 4m) for outdoor dining and enjoyment away from the sun. From here, double front doors lead into the magnificent and impressive living/dining room. This lovely room (11 x 5.5m) has high, vaulted ceilings with beams and a beautiful central fireplace. The living room is on two slightly different levels, typical of the original cortijos, to compensate for the slight natural sloping of the land.

At the very far end of the living room on the right is a spacious, comfortable bathroom (3 x 3.5m) in white tiling and a large, walk-in shower and bath, plus heated towel rail.

The beautiful, country kitchen is accessed through an archway from the living room. This lovely room has quality rustic style units and an original bread oven and a pantry/store area. The current owners are keen cooks and this kitchen is therefore set up for culinary enthusiasts.

Back in the living room, a short corridor leads to an open inner hallway with a woodburner which distributes heat to the three bedrooms and bathroom that lead off the hall. There is a comfortable bathroom to the left with walk-in shower and heated towel rail (2 x 2m) and bedroom 1 to the right (3 x 3m) overlooking the covered terrace to the front.

At the other end is bedroom 2 (4 x 3m) with a window over the shaded courtyard garden, and bedroom 3 (5 x 3m) which has a window overlooking the covered terrace and incorporates an enchanting, original fireplace, which could be reused if required.

This lovely property offers peace, clean, mountain air, and privacy, all within a 25 minute drive of the coast and 15 minutes to Velez-Malaga. It has main water and electricity.
