DESCRIPTION
Corner Cottage is a very pretty Grade II listed period house in the popular village of Fittleworth. The property is understood to date back to the 16th century and has pretty external elevations that include timber framing with brick infill, some half tile hanging under a pitched roof covered in clay tiles. The cottage has a wealth of charm and character with many period features such as exposed oak framing and beams and working fireplaces. The well presented accommodation includes a long vaulted entrance hall, a cosy sitting room with a beautiful inglenook fireplace, a drawing room with fireplace (not currently in use), a spacious fitted kitchen with an extensive range of fitted units, a fireplace fitted with a log burning stove, and under floor heating. Also on the ground floor is the original front door with storage lobby, a study/bedroom 4 and a cloakroom/shower room.

Unusually for a cottage of this period, the first floor has good ceiling heights with a large master bedroom suite incorporating an open plan bathroom. There are 2 further bedrooms and a family bathroom. The bonus of Corner Cottage is the delightful Bothy which offers so many opportunities and is currently used as an annexe comprising a living room which has a high, vaulted ceiling and kitchenette with mezzanine and shower room. The property is approached through a wooden gate leading to a pretty courtyard with a raised gravel bed. Dispersed are a number of ornamental flowers and shrub borders providing an abundance of colour during the seasons. The courtyard divides the Bothy from the main house and has brick paving leading to a secluded lawned garden. This area is bordered with a line of roses and other traditional English flowers and there is also a small terrace.

A detached garage with a gravel parking area to the front is located about 270ft along Bedham Lane.

LOCATION AND AMENITIES
Corner Cottage is situated on Hallelujah Corner, at the north western edge of Fittleworth, close to Fittleworth’s ancient village church, within walking distance of the local, community owned and run village shop and the village school. John Constable famously painted a picture of the ancient mill and, at the southern end of the village is the historic Swan Inn. Fittleworth lies between Petworth and Pulborough, within the South Downs National Park. There are local shops at Petworth and Pulborough where there is also a main line station offering a regular service to London with journey times from around 70 minutes.

Additionally, the surrounding countryside offers ample opportunity for walking over local footpaths.
