The property is set over three floors in the east wing of the main house and also has a cellar for storage. Period features include high ceilings, mullioned windows with window seats and original shutters, and the servants’ bells. The sitting room and principal bedroom both have original wood panelling and exposed ceiling beams. The open fireplace in the sitting room has an intricately carved wooden surround and over mantel dating from 1686. The principal bedroom has a walk-in wardrobe and a bathroom. Four further bedrooms are on the first and second floors, with an en suite shower room, a wet room and a bathroom. One bedroom is currently used as a cinema room. A separate suite, suitable for staff, has a bedroom, a shower, a cloakroom and a laundry area with a washing machine and dryer.

Kitchen/Breakfast Room

The central island has integrated recycling bins. There is an integrated Bosch dishwasher. Miele appliances include a larder fridge, a large roasting oven with an induction hob over, and two smart ovens with automatic programming and steam, grill and microwave functions. There is also a warming drawer and a coffee machine.

Specification

Modern high specification features include a Bang & Olufsen sound system and lighting system. Apple TV is integrated throughout the house and CCTV cameras in the rooms can be controlled via an app on a smartphone. The radiators are all thermostatically controlled and there is also underfloor heating. There is built-in storage in most rooms including bespoke storage for coats and shoes beneath the stairs, and silk wallpaper includes a Lilieve paper in one bedroom.

Approached by a 0.25 mile private drive through an avenue of trees, the property has a private kitchen garden, a greenhouse with a fig tree, and a separate garden with mature trees, patio areas and a stone temple. The communal grounds have an outdoor laundry drying area. The two stables are leased for a peppercorn rent and are currently used for storage.
