BISHOPS COURT
A select development of luxury houses and apartments located in one of Torquay’s most sought-after locations. The Bishops Court site is situated in the leafy Warberries area of Torquay and accessed from Lower Warberry Road. Its elevated position above this road provides commanding views from most of the properties with many affording stunning views across Torbay.
All of the properties provide well proportioned living spaces, from the characterful Victorian apartments with their large windows and high ceilings to the larger townhouses and detached new builds. There really is something for everyone. All of the properties have private parking, garaging or both and there are private gardens with most of the homes.
A short distance from the development and within walking distance is the thriving town centre with a wide range of boutique shops and restaurants (including a Michelin Star Restaurant) and the attractive harbour front and Marina providing boating opportunities. From here there are fabulous coastal walks to both sandy beaches and secluded inlets just ready to be explored! This is luxury living at its finest. Live the lifestyle…… live at Bishops Court.
THE HISTORY
The main Victorian Villa at Bishops Court was originally named Normount when it was constructed by brothers William and John Harvey in 1844. The Villa was built at a time when the south-facing slope of the Warberries was being developed with large homes during a time when The English Riviera became one of the most fashionable English resorts. Having traded as a popular hotel throughout the 1990’s and 2000’s The Bishops Court Hotel ceased trading. Now the spectacular Grade II listed Villa has been restored to its former glory, accompanied by a range of townhouses and detached houses sympathetically designed to blend in with the attractive surroundings.
