Owner's comment:
‘Tijdstroom’, meaning Timestream in Dutch, has been our family home since 2007. Steeped in history, she was built to ferry goods, later converted to fish on the Ijsselmeer, and even saw action in WWII. After cruising extensively through Europe, we settled in the picturesque town of Woodbridge in 2009, drawn by its outstanding natural beauty, vibrant community and excellent local schools.
Nestled in a quiet residential mooring, we are privileged to be one of the very few properties with the iconic view of the historic Tidemill and a sweeping panorama of the River Deben and Sutton Hoo estate. The ever-changing river has become part of our lives, our back garden, a source of peace and tranquillity, and countless memories. Paddle boarding, kayaking, or setting off in a tender for secluded beach picnics, the choice is yours! As nature lovers, we revel in the seasonal visitors, with black-tailed godwits and other waders feeding just meters from our deck—no binoculars needed!
As the tide rolls in, oyster catchers and cormorants make their graceful appearances, and we delight in the occasional seal venturing upriver.
Sunny afternoons call for barbecues on deck and crabbing off the side of the boat, while crisp, dark winters find us snuggling up in the glow of the log-burning stove watching movies or reading a book.
The friendly boating community offers an instant social circle. At the same time, Woodbridge provides all the amenities you need within walking distance— independent shops, cafes, restaurants, a cinema, a theatre, parks, tennis courts, a gym, and a swimming pool. The train station has excellent links with Ipswich and London - invaluable for commuters or in our case teenagers wanting to spread their wings!
Tijdstroom is more than just our home, it’s a unique living experience, a home and holiday combined in one - a way of life. It truly is ‘Living the dream!’
