Granada Village & Country is marketing an unfinished boutique hotel project. The structure of the hotel has been partially completed, and the interior work had just been started when the financial crisis in Spain halted the build. The hotel is considered to be a vital part of the overall Cultural Tourism strategy in the historic village of Moclín, where the building is situated.

This is a village with a 13th Century Moorish Castle, a valley complete with cave complexes, one of which dates back over 60,000 years. The Andalucian stretch of the Camino de Santiago ventures through the village, as does the Camino Mozarabe and the Ruta del Califato. The most popular hiking route in the village is the stunning Ruta del Gollizno, that carves its way through a dramatic river gorge. Moclin hosts one of the most important religious festivals in Spain, Las Fiestas en Honor del Santísimo Cristo del Paño, on 5th October each year, and on this date up to 30,000 visitors can descend on the village to pay homage to a painting of Christ and the Cross. The week preceding the 5th October is a fiesta in the finest Andalucian style, and the festival inspired Federico Garcia Lorca to write his play, Yerma. Granada is 35 minutes away by car, and the cities of Córdoba and Jaén are within a 2 hour drive.

The hotel, the design of which was heavily inspired by the Moorish architecture that prevails across Andalucia, has 1,680 square metres of accommodation on three main floors. The current plans allow for 8 bedroom suites, a large restaurant (open for non-residents), and a cloistered courtyard. There is excellent vehicular access, space for parking and deliveries and an area for a swimming pool. The new owner would be in a position to redesign the interior spaces to suit their own requirements. The current owner of the hotel has indicated that serious offers will be considered, and the local town planners will be very keen to assist to get the project completed and contributing to the historical significance of the village.
