This house is located approximately 500 metres above sea level on an easily navigable village road in the municipality of Gioiosa Marea in the higher Contrada Russa.
The distance to the coast is 7 km. The view to the north and east from the house offers a spectacular view of the offshore Aeolian Islands and the coast towards Milazzo.
The property is less than 7 km from the centre of Gioiosa Marea, where you will find a friendly community of around five thousand inhabitants. As you would expect, there are supermarkets, bars, restaurants and all the essential facilities and shops for daily needs, and of course long stretches of beach with crystal clear waters. The views from the sea are no less impressive than those from above, with views of the Aeolian Islands easily visible on sunny days.
The nearest major city is Messina, an hour away by car. From here, a short ferry connection takes you to the tip of the Italian peninsula. Catania and Palermo, where Sicily's two main international airports are located, are both around two hours away by car. The glamorous seaside resorts of Taormina and Cefalù are both within easy reach.


The property

The plot is approximately 440 m² in size and is planted with lemon trees and orange trees. The house is located about 80 metres from the village street and is accessed via a side street. The plot of land in question extends to this village road and a driveway and parking space for one car could also be created here. Neighbours live in the immediate vicinity all year round. You are not isolated here, but of course you cannot live here without a car.
The house extends over two floors, which are connected by an external staircase. The roof makes a good impression and there are no infiltrations on the inside. The brick house also makes a stable impression. While the lower floor needs to be completely renovated, the upper floor makes a much better impression.
You reach the upper floor via an external staircase and enter a hallway. To the right is a spacious bedroom with an east-facing window.
On the ground floor you enter directly into a kitchen-living room, and to the right there is another spacious room.
The ground floor is in need of total renovation, while the upper floor can be described as habitable for modest requirements.
Directly adjacent to this house is a building which is also being sold but which in my opinion must either be demolished or completely renovated.

The location of this property is unique. The view of the nearby sea is indescribably beautiful. Especially in spring everything blooms and turns green here, fruit trees, olives, walnut trees and oaks surround the house.
The vendor is asking € 49,000.00 for this property, which may be easily negotiable. This would be the ideal property for a handyman or craftsman. The house is in need of renovation, especially the ground floor. I would perhaps demolish the outbuilding and build a nice panoramic terrace instead.
