HISTORY OF THE HOUSE:
The past 2005 was celebrated in our country the year of the commemoration
of the 150th anniversary of the first regulation on the establishment of
industrial colonies in Catalonia. These were the product of
industrial revolution and were basically established on the banks of the Ter and
Llobregat.
The evolution of industrialization and labor movements drifted towards
organization of workers, the creation of unions and the
labor claim.

unions together with the fiscal advantages that the establishment
business in rural areas, motivated Josep Tolrà, and more
forward to his widow, the establishment of his factory of wire fences in the
municipality of Artesa de Segre, taking advantage of the waters of the Canal d'Urgell

small power plant that is still active today working at full capacity.
It was in 1906 when the factory and the residence of the
owners. According to what the Artesan architect Eusebi Guimet tells us,
constructions have a marked noucentista character with

Later the two blocks of flats with 48 flats per

in 1945. In its heyday, this industry
reaches the number of 320 workers.
During the civil war the factory was collectivized and served as a
Headquarters of the XIth Battalion of the Republican Army. In addition to using your

facilities passed prominent people such as General Galán and Dolores Ibarruri, la Pasionaria.
