Built in different phases, the last one concluded in 1903, by the renowned modernist architect Josep Azemar i Pont (Figueres 1862 - Barcelona 1914), whose portfolio of notable works includes the house where the painter Salvador Dalí was born - Casa Puig the Casa Mas Roger or the outstanding Escorxador Municipal, architectural heritage of Figueres and Catalan modernism, in the historical reconstruction it is possible to find the farmhouse referenced since the fifteenth century in the name of Cipriano Avinyó.
It has a total of 91 hectares; 2100m2 built between barn, corral and the initial Cortal with its attached modernist building with a rectangular base of three sentry boxes and its striking tower. It is worth mentioning the hermitage erected in honor of the patron saint of Castelló d'Empúries' corral that rests on the land. This single-storey nave with an Arab tile roof is well known in the Alt Empordà and dates from 1557 according to the will of Cipriano Avinyò.

The farmhouse is surrounded mainly by nature reserve, however, surrounding villages with restaurants and leisure and cultural activities at different times of the year.

Only 4 km from "Playa de Ca'n Comas" virgin beach located in the Natural Park, with a length of almost 4 km, from the mouth of the Muga to Camping Almata, with protected areas of dunes. At 15 minutes by bike from Cortal Avinyó, 5 minutes by car and half an hour on foot, other nearby destinations such as Cadaqués 25 km, Roses 12 km, La Escala 18 km, Begur 47 km.
