Most children of secondary age in the village attend Guilsborough school; however, the two highly regarded, grammar schools, Lawrence Sheriff and Rugby High, are accessible through the eleven-plus examination, and there are further State-funded alternatives including Ashlawn in Hillmorton and the new secondary school at Houlton, to say nothing of the world famous, fee-paying Rugby School.
 
Crick is served by an excellent road network, being located within a couple of miles of Junction 18 on the M1 and only a few miles further from the M6 and the A14. Stations at Rugby and Long Buckby are both approximately seven miles away, they offer first-rate rail links to London and Birmingham.

"Beehive Cottage is a very special place.
My late husband and I moved to Beehive Cottage in January 2007. It was one of those grey, rainy days but from the outset the house radiated warmth and welcome.
We’d been looking for an interesting property in a Northamptonshire village for some time. We settled on Crick because its rural feel yet its easy access to motorways and major roads.
Characterful village houses in great condition don’t come up very often here, so we were thrilled when the property came on the market. The house has so many wonderful features but the two that stand out for me are the beautiful farmhouse kitchen, which is the heart of our home, and the spacious main bedroom, which overlooks the garden and the ancient apple tree.
The floor to ceiling windows invite nature into this room, and the tree is a constant reminder of seasonal cycles; it’s always changing colour and shape, and its canopy is shelter and feeding station for many visiting birds throughout the year. It’s like you have your own bird hide view, from the comfort of your bed!
Not long after we moved in, we discovered that many Crick families had lived in Beehive Cottage at some time or other, it being a rented property. One such elderly gentleman told us that he had lived in the original cottage as a small boy. As he walked around the old part of the cottage with us, he told us stories about his life there. Such as how his beloved tiny toy soldier had slipped between the floorboards in the living room; the place where his pet toad lived; how Auntie climbed up the ladder to her ‘bed’ when she came to stay on the upper floor of the adjacent barn. He also shared the fear he felt when the Luftwaffe flew overhead throughout the night and into the next day during the Coventry blitz in 1940. This old house holds precious memories.
I love the way that the old building and the more recent extensions blend together seamlessly. The house is a joy to live in. I will be very sad to leave this beautiful and characterful home, but the time has come for a new family to take custody of it, to shape its future and make new memories."
